Erin & Nathan's Wedding Extravaganza

Last month Liz's lovely cousin Erin got married in Houston, Texas to a super awesome guy (and great golfer), Nathan. Everything about their big day was perfect and we're so glad we pulled out our camera to snag a few of our favorite moments. Hope you enjoy!

Oh, and Mr. and Mrs. Reeves, are you two taking on any dance students? Because the Millards could definitely learn a thing or two from your sweet moves. :) Seriously, it gave us the chills!

Congrats again, Erin & Nathan--we're so excited for you guys and can't wait to see you in 2012 for the next Sheriff family wedding!

Houston is HOT!

So to avoid the heat, we hit the Houston Aquarium with the Sheriff clan and almost got attacked by a tiger!

Okay so maybe we're embellishing a little bit, but the part about Houston being HOT is totally true. We had a great time visiting with family, eating lots of Tex-Mex and BBQ, and most importantly, witnessing Erin and Nathan tie the knot.

We'll share more later, but for now, we're enjoying this cool SoCal weather.

Thatch Attack!

Prepare yourselves to experience a Thatch Attack of overwhelming cuteness!

Our dear friends Emili and Jimmy welcomed their handsome little man, Thatcher Ace, into the world on April 30th, 2011. We were honored to visit the Robeson family in the hospital and couldn't help but pull out our camera to capture the special moment.

Congratulations Em and Jimmy on your sweet baby boy--we are so unbelievably excited for you guys!

Terranea Take 2 (iPhone perspective)

Here's a little more Terranea Time via Lizzy's iPhone.

Did your jaw drop after the last picture? Yep, our fun in the sun left Lizzy in some serious pain. Hello Aloe Vera! We'll remember the sunscreen next time...

Terranea Time

First off, how is it already JUNE????? We totally acknowledge the fact that we say this almost every blog post, but where does the time go?! These last few months have been pretty busy for the Millard family--which is a blessing and a curse (okay totally not a curse but you get our drift :)! We are so thankful for the amazing family, friends and activities that fill up our days... but also wish we could stop the clock every now and then and really just take it all in.

One exciting adventure that took up some of our time was a trip to the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes. We were so incredibly excited to take off work for a couple days in April and drive out to PV to experience the luxurious Terranea Resort. This trip was made possible by Rich's amazing bosses, Mark and Jeff, who graciously gave us a gift card for Christmas. How awesome, right?!

This place was the perfect getaway from the bustling city, set right on the picturesque Pacific ocean. Upon our arrival at Terranea, we received a complimentary glass of Champagne (awesome) and ventured up to our ocean-view room (more awesome). Not a bad start to our little getaway!

We spent a lot of time hiking around Terranea, eating plenty of great food at the resort restaurants and of course, jacuzzi time for Rich. Those Millard boys love their jacuzzi time! It was such a great mini-vacay, we loved the beautiful scenery, constant ocean-view and great food. We can't wait to go back!

A big shout-out to Mark and Jeff for sharing the allure of Palos Verdes with us. We wouldn't mind joining you guys down there one day! :)

We got hops!

Below is an excerpt of an interview we recently did with Vanity Fair Magazine:

VF: There are a lot of misconceptions about you two. If people take away one thing about the Millard family, what do you want it to be?

LM: Easy. Hang time.

VF: Hang time?

RM: She's talking pure, unbridaled vertical leap. The kind of lift-off that Kobe would be jealous of. That's what we bring to the table.

LM: Anytime, any place. We got hops! Booyah!

(Rich and Liz high-five)

VF: I've heard stories about your legendary leaping ability but I never dreamed I would be able to witness it. Would you do us the honor of demonstrating this God-given gift?

LM: We thought you'd never ask.

Alright, spoiler alert. Vanity Fair hasn't interviewed us about our vertical leap yet, but with hops like these, the sky is the limit.

Palm Springs Anniversary Adventure

WOW! We've been married for a year? One whole year of wedded bliss! It's crazy how fast time flies by! Needless to say, this past year has been absolutely amazing--more than we could have ever hoped and prayed for.

To celebrate our first anniversary, we decided to get away for the weekend and head to Palm Springs. The sun was shining, the weather outside couldn't have been better (not too hot, not too cold) and then... Lizzy came down with a terrible head cold. Talk about timing! Despite her being sick, Liz got out of bed, threw some clothes in a suitcase and jumped in the car ready for an adventure.

A few hours later... hello Palm Springs! We spent the weekend at the Movie Colony Hotel, which is a cool little hotel just a short walk away from downtown. Lizzy drank lots of tea while Rich enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. We caught a flick, indulged in lots of yummy food (including an amazing brunch at Cheeky's) and reminisced about the past year.

It was definitely an amazing anniversary getaway, and we're fully convinced that there will be plenty more Palm Spring weekends in our future (and of course, years of wedded bliss).

Our Trip to Venice... Beach that is!

Since the weather has started to warm up again, we recently decided to pull out our beach cruisers and greet spring with a little bike adventure to the Venice Boardwalk.

After cruising the boardwalk for a little while, we decided to pull over, grab a seat, and grub down on some yummy turkey sandwiches as we watched the boats sail by.

We then wandered the boardwalk, taking in all the oddities that make Venice Beach world famous.

After Lizzy finished her Medical Marijuana evaluation (jk), we decided it was time to head back to our bikes and start making our way home.

On our way back to the car, we decided to take a quick detour to one of our favorite neighborhoods in all of Los Angeles. The Venice Canals.

Yeah, I don't think we'd be opposed to living there someday. But for now, we're perfectly happy heading over the bridge and back to our cozy little place in Culver City.
